Comments Forum for Second Edition of AIPSC2

On January 14, 2021 (Thursday), a forum will be presented by the team of authors who are writing the second Edition of American Institute of Parliamentarians Standard Code of Parliamentary Procedure. The forum will include an open session for AIP members to provide suggestions for the book, and to ask questions of the authors. This is a new approach to updating a parliamentary authority, and the AIPSC2 team is excited to bring this level of transparency to those who will use this authority in the future!

The Forum will be in three separate parts: 

• 12:00 p.m. PDT: Part 1: Presentation to AIP by the authors on the process of updating AIPSC (Zoom meeting forum -- presentation by authors, all AIP members and the public can attend.)

• 1:00 p.m. PDT (Hard start) Part 2: Q&A from members of AIP (Zoom meeting forum -- all AIP members and the public can participate. Questions are limited to AIP members.)

• 3:00 p.m. PDT (Hard start) Part 3: Reference committee hearing from members of the public (Forum -- The priority is to hear from members of the public; however, if there are still questions from AIP members they will be taken at the end.)

Members of the public who wish to provide feedback to the authors may sign up to comment during Part 3. Participants will be called in the order they sign in, and if a participant is not available when called, the Team will re-call their name at the end of the hearing.  

An email will be sent to attendees during the days leading up to the event explaining how to sign up to ask a question.
