AIPSC’s Specific-Purpose Main Motion

What are the American Institute of Parliamentarians Standard Code of Parliamentary Procedure's specific-purpose main motions?
This interactive 75-minute workshop will discover in "ins and outs" of specific-purpose main motions, including:
- What are the specific-purpose main motions?

- How are they used?
- What do they do?
- Why have named specific-purpose main motions?
- Why are they needed?
- Why is the specific-purpose main motion Adopt in lieu of unique to AIPSC? Where did it come from?
- What are the similarities and differences between the way AIPSC uses specific-purpose main motions and the RONR “bring back” motions?
Questions and answers will be taken both during and at the end of the workshop.
This workshop is approved for 1.0 CEUs on behalf of the National Association of Parliamentarians for NAP credential renewal
About the Speaker:
Dr. Glen Hall has been a member of AIP since 2000. He has served in leadership positions at the Texas Dental Association (TDA) and the American Dental Association (ADA). He served as Speaker of the House for both the Texas and American Dental Associations, and as parliamentarian for the ADA Board of Trustees. He has taught and facilitated classes at AIP Practicums and Annual Sessions, and lead classes in parliamentary procedure for various dental groups. He presently serves as parliamentarian for the AIP president and for the Texas Dental Association and is a consultant to other dental groups on procedural matters.
In his spare (sarcastically) time he has a full-time general dental practice in Abilene, TX where he has practiced since 1978. His wife Carol and daughter Andrea manage the practice and keep his schedule open for these events.
